In this unit, I am experimenting with all the features of Wix website creator. I have firstly added in some sections and buttons for organization. I then designed the background and stuck to a warm brown/ golden colour pallet. I have used my own photos for my backgrounds. I have also figured out how to insert videos (as seen next to this paragraph) and graphics as well as linking my social medias for my film making. I have been making choices for my graphics design of the website to evoke a warm feeling with a theme of old books and stars.
After a few more days on the site, i have begun making the website look a lot more professional. I have experimented a lot more with the navigation of my site, buttons and design element. For my design, I have customised each of my pages for research tasks to relate to the photographer/film style of which i am researching. As for the navigation, I have made sub-titles within the main categories in my menu on the top bar to keep my work more organised. I have also added buttons within the site to provide an extra choice for navigation.
We later filmed our interviews which were our first filming projects with each other. we learnt the basics of how to operate the boom mics and cameras while also getting to know each other through questions that we wrote for one another. This was also my first editing experience and I learnt how to use Adobe Premiere Pro efficiently. I made cuts, added back ground music and B-rolls over the original video. I even attempted to colour-grade my work but I believe I would need to study this more. I overall thought I did well especially considering this was my first attempt.
I also researched and studied the styles and lives of a wide range of creative minds within the industry. I did research on photographers and cinematographers to put on the 'Research' segment I have created on my site. I looked into the compositional techniques, angles and use/lack of colour in the images. I also looked at stills from cinematographers such as Julian court and Hoyte Van Hoytma. these cinematographers both have unequal styles and I thoroughly enjoyed studying them and will implement all that I have learnt from them into my work.
In conclusion, I am constantly and consistently improving my understanding of this subject. each and every day I am learning new skills to improve my future work. I've learnt how to use the cameras, how to use angles and composition to tell a story, operate sound recording equipment and use the lighting and editing software.
